The PFT consists of four events that test different aspects of physical fitness: a 3.2 km run, push-ups, sit-ups, and pull-ups (for male applicants) or flex-arm hang (for female applicants).

The cadetship program is a four-year course that combines academic and military training. Cadets undergo rigorous physical and mental training to develop their leadership skills, discipline, and sense of duty. They also study a range of subjects, including military science, engineering, and humanities.

Upon graduation from the PMA, cadets are commissioned as officers in the AFP. They can choose to serve in the Army, Navy, Air Force, or the Philippine Coast Guard.
